Law of Circulation of ECU Cash

Rules and principles governing the circulation of ECU digital banknotes

1

What ECU Cash Is

ECU Cash is digital banknotes intended for direct peer-to-peer settlements. They operate according to the same principles as physical cash in the real world.

2

Ownership

Ownership of an ECU banknote is determined by the actual acceptance of the banknote. Until a banknote is accepted, it is not considered received. Once a banknote is accepted, full responsibility for it is transferred to the recipient.

3

Transfer of a Banknote

The transfer of ECU Cash is carried out by sending a banknote to a recipient. After a banknote is sent, the sender cannot modify, cancel, or revoke it. Sending ECU Cash is equivalent to handing over physical cash from one person to another.

4

Acceptance or Rejection

The recipient always has the right to choose:

Accept

  • The banknote becomes the property of the recipient.
  • The recipient assumes full responsibility for the banknote.
  • Acceptance is a conscious and deliberate action.

Reject

  • The banknote is returned to the sender.
  • No obligations arise for the recipient.
5

Erroneous Transfers

If ECU Cash is received by mistake and is not related to any obligation toward the sender, the recipient is advised to reject the payment. Appropriation of funds received by mistake may be considered unjust enrichment and may entail legal liability in accordance with applicable law.

6

No Arbitration

The ECU platform:

  • does not act as a court,
  • does not resolve disputes,
  • does not interfere in relations between parties.
7

Security and Responsibility

Loss of access to ECU Cash is equivalent to the loss of physical cash. The user independently chooses the level of security:

  • storing funds as cash, or
  • transferring them to a secure mode (for example, storage in a wallet).
8

Collectible Banknotes

The series and number of a banknote are its unique characteristics. Certain combinations may have collectible value. The issuance of such banknotes is subject to special rules and may be subject to a fee.

All settlements using ECU Cash are carried out under the responsibility of the participants, similarly to cash settlements in the real world.
